2007 SEASON REVIEW
The Tigers retooled and rebounded from a 7-13 2005 season, improved to 15-5, and denied the Pirates back-to-back championships in their run to their first league title.
The Pirates finish the season with a stellar 23-2 record by winning 19 regular season games and sweeping past the Devil Rays and Blacksox for their first league title.
The NL Athletics dominated the postseason by sweeping past the defending champion Firebirds, 2nd seed Pirates, and 1st seed Blacksox en route to their first National League title.
The 2nd year Firebirds knocked off the defending champion Blacksox in the first round of the playoffs, beat the Pirates in a tough 3 game set, then went on to defeat the Giants in the championships to claim the National League crown.
The Blacksox ran away with the Western Division crown and beat the Rangers in a 3 game series for the league championship. It was the Blacksox fourth league championship, a new National League record.
