SONOMA COUNTY

PIRATES

The Sonoma County Pirates are a 25 and over adult baseball team which competes in the Redwood Empire Baseball League (REBL), an affiliate of the national organization, the Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL).  The Pirates had a great, albeit disappointing, 2007 season in which they logged the league's best record at 18-3 and looked to repeat as NL champions.  But the team couldn't finish the deal and ultimately lost the championship to the Tigers.  The team returns for the 2008 season hungry to reclaim the NL title.  The Pirates welcome back Bill Arnerich, and bolstered the team by trading for Shane Francisco and picking up free agent Brandon Renfro.

PIRATES CROWNED 2006 REBL CHAMPIONS!!

For the first time since 2000, the Pirates are the 2006 REBL 25+ National League Champions.  The Pirates hooked up with an old rival, the Blacksox, for this year's REBL title.  The Pirates and Blacksox have a long postseason history, meeting for the 4th time in the last 6 years.  In fact, the Pirates (then the Phillies) 2000 title came at the expense of the Blacksox in a close 3 game series at the old Crusher Stadium.  This year's series did not require the deciding third game as the Pirates swept the first two games for the league championship, 8-7 and 12-5.
